Thérèse van Gijn works as a strategic consultant and project manager and has broad experience in process management as well as policy consulting in the fields of the environment and sustainability. She accumulated this experience during the integration of sustainability aspects in spatial planning policy, development tasks, and in process management between authorities, market parties, and citizens.

Thérèse's activities consist of the development of sustainability visions, performing sustainability analyses, and implementing sustainability in design and work processes. She has specific experience in applying The Natural Step, the methodology for strategic sustainable development, and the preparation and implementation of sustainable energy concepts. In addition, Thérèse is the Chair of the International Advisory Board of Women in Europe for a Common Future (WECF), a network of organizations that jointly work on sustainable development, safeguarding health and the environment, and the fight against poverty. Finally, she is a member of the Professions Committee of the Climate & Environment Department at the Technology & Environment Academy of The Hague University of Applied Sciences.
