DHV will be one of the eighty Dutch companies taking part in an economic mission to Vietnam between 28 March and 2 April. The delegation includes companies active in the oil and gas, water, transport and logistics, maritime and agriculture sectors, and will be led by Hans Bleker, the State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation. In 2010, DHV established a national company in Vietnam, where the focus is currently on water purification and mobility projects.
The visit will begin in Hanoi and end in Ho Chi Minh City. The program includes various activities, with an emphasis on 'matchmaking' and networking. Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Máxima will be in attendance at some formal events.
Vietnam
Vietnam is one of Asia's fastest-growing economies. In 2010, it recorded growth of 7% and this trend is expected to continue unabated. Moreover, Vietnam is gradually shifting from the centralized plan economy model to a free market economy. Industrial development accompanied by a high investment level has increased the demand for foreign products and services. Demand for consumer goods is also growing due to population growth and higher general prosperity. All such developments offer significant opportunities for foreign companies to do business in Vietnam.
