The entire domain of road infrastructure consists of traffic links at the (inter)national, regional and local level, divided into line and urban infrastructure. Road infrastructure does not simply provide traffic solutions; it is often a collection of user functions requiring an integrated set-up for public areas. The integrated character is expressed by fitting the road infrastructure into an area, paying attention to all the elements that are present. All disciplines and interfaces form an integrated whole in which includes concepts such as multiple use of space and bundling of (line) infrastructure form an important part.
