Quality management monitors and assures the quality of products and services. DHV applies the principles from ISO 9001 in this process. Our consultants are experienced in the field of risk management, quality management and organizational audit. They contribute to the achievement of (project) objectives via risk-focused process control.
DHV advises both clients and contractors in the field of quality. This advice is focused on subjects that apply specifically to the client or contractor. ‘Saying what you are doing and then doing what you say' is always the basic principle in quality management.
For clients
DHV advises clients in the formulation of quality requirements in, for instance, a schedule of requirements or tender specification. These requirements relate to the quality management system of the tenderer or the performance of systems-oriented contract management on the part of the client.
For clients DHV can assure that:
- quality system requirements (as part of a tender specification) are drawn up
- the operation of the quality system is tested by the contractor (systems-focused contract management)
- training is offered in the area of contract management and auditing
For contractors
DHV advises the contractor in tender teams on setting up and applying the quality management system during the design and construction phase. When setting up the quality management system for the project, it should dovetail with the existing quality management that the contracting company generally already has. This allows the teaching effect for the company and project to be combined. In the case of projects in which different parties with different company quality systems work together a practical and project-oriented quality assurance is mapped out in a short period of time.
Quality management then results in safeguarding and monitoring quality and correcting and preventing deviations in both company and project processes. In addition, systems improvement is implemented on a continuous basis as an essential component of quality management.
For contractors DHV can assist in the implementation of project-focused quality assurance for contracting parties by:
- setting up the project quality system
- setting up the project quality plan and underlying sub-plans
- monitoring the implementation of quality (sub) plans
- assuming the role of quality manager/coordinator
- taking care of training for construction site personnel in the field of quality and safety
