Virtual Design and Construction

Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) is an approach developed by DHV in collaboration with Stanford University in the US. This method is based on the philosophy that not only the product (the building) must be modeled, but also the process and the organization, before beginning the work.

DHV has further developed this into an approach, whereby the most modern means of communication are used to achieve a pure integrated design, a transparent process, and a well-oiled organization. VDC allows you to make a trial run through your new building. It is possible to involve all your employees in the design process, in order to enhance the acceptance of the design by the users. Not by presenting them with complex drawings, but by having them stroll virtually through the departments.

DHV is the first European consulting firm to have a VDC certified consultant: Bram van de Kaa. Moreover, multiple “VDC facilitators” can facilitate the design process.
