Implementation of the Air Quality Directive in six European Seaport cities

The pressure on the ambient air quality in European international seaports is high. International (seagoing) ships, inland shipping, harbor activities, industry and local urban areas each take part in polluting the air. European Union legislation, The Air Quality Directive, sets limit and target values for different pollutants like particulate matter, ozone and nitrogen dioxide. The DCMR Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has assigned DHV to perform an “EU Benchmark Air Quality” for six EU seaport cities.Read more

Support point for Noise, Soil, Air quality and Climate (GBLK)

DHV supports the Department of Traffic and Shipping (DVS) in the fields of noise, air quality, soil and climate. The purpose is to reach high quality and a short run-time for infrastructural projects. Special to this framework contract “Support point GBLK” is the cooperation with the Directorate General of Public Works and Water Management: consultants of DHV and DVS make one team. Read more

POLKA (Project bureau Environmental noise, mapping and Action Plans)

Many municipalities are obliged to make a new noise map and a plan of action every five years. The same goes for ‘source administrators’ as the provinces, the Directorate General of Public Works and Water Management and Prorail as well as for Schiphol Airport.
